Yu Xiang's 21st!

this is yuxiang posing with my cute present! WAHAHAHhahaha. So thankful for the treat because the food is pretty good!
This is at Coca Restaurant, 4th level in Takashimaya. Some cleaner steamboat place. :D
so everyone wants a pict with birthday boy!
& so do boyfriend & i!
The food are served in small servings, so there's a menu for you to order whatever you want. They are famous for their fish glue, according to what i read from food reviews out there.

For us, it was more of fun trying to cook the fish glue! HAHAHAHAS! (remembering taking a picture of junwei but i wonder why is he not in my camera?!?!?!?! he was there too!)
This mango drink is good! Yummy! (:
HAhaha, alfresco imitation! it's located just next to the glass rims of that gigantic hollow space in the middle of taka, so it's got quite a good view of the christmas tree now (:
& birthday boy is in the mood for christmas tree cam whoring. so we made him take a picture with every christmas tree we see along the way! HAHA!
i like the warm colours!
& these retarded boys looked damn kuku with this tree! LOL.
Thereafter, we ran out of activities to do. Bowling in marina square was fully booked, & impromptu decision to see the Easy-A movie was thwarted as well --with only 2 front rows left, WTH ...

So we settled for Starbucks & i ate this peach cheesecake! i like the cheesecake, but not the crust nor the peach. I don't like syrup-preserved peaches, & the peaches obviously came from the can.
& the wonder of a Mac. but i wouldnt get it though, the specs are pretty far off from the others. I only liked the graphics & webcam. So i still prefer my Asus. :D

Mahjong game till 5am. Sleep-killer :/

On a typical home day (:

the father & son sleeping like logs.

he then wakes up! & gets ready for food!!!! Last time i never recalled having such a cute bib. mine i remembered was a ready-to-dispose mundane white & tearable piece of budget paper. LOL.
Brother feeding his son! & Xian xian is jumping for more!
This is what he eats. *yuck* mashed porridge with brocolli, carrots & marmite.

look so delicious eh! LOL. i wanna eat too!!!

Margarita's at Dempsey

& so, i hitched a ride & went on our way to Dempsey! & in the meantime, Koonphi was so nice to cam whore with me! HAHA! & none looks good enough, i seriously need to take those fats away from my face. :/
but first, we stopped over at Jones the Grocer because the others were not there yet.
the library of books & super tall shelves were damn cool!
& pastries, condiments & some merchandise like cheese, marmalades, cookies, etc etc.
i took a day & night picture of the place! It's a mexican food restaurant!
the decor & ambience was damn nice! just take a look at all these!
Wall paintings elizabethan-like, & the amber-lited wine cellar was damn impressive & grand!
so is the gigantic christmas tree possibly standing 3 metres tall!
& check this out, they call this place --the toilet -- the powder room.

One thing we were damn surprised with! Yvonne & us were discussing what to get while we waited for the rest. So we said "Order skyjuice la". Fearing the staff wouldnt understand what's "Sky juice" i said "can you please seve us 6 glasses of plain water?" & to our surprise, she turned to her colleague & said "SKYJUICE!"

It left us dumbfounded cause it's like a damn formal/classy way to address plain water!
you may want to look at the menu (:
camwhore camwhore...

Alright, this is damn funny. please tell me if weijie is actually opening his eye or closing. LOL. the last one is definitely evidence that he gave up trying to show his eye in front of the camera. But for the first two, it was a hilarious attempt to take him with his eye. We really dont know if it's opened or closed, since he claimed that he did!
the gang! 246! LOL!
Now let's get to the food! :D

1. Nachos $17 : "a plate of Tasty tortilla chips, loaded with refried beans, smoothen with cheese, chillies, guacamole & sour cream." -says the menu

I'm so recommending this! It's damn nice. Tangy mozarella & sour cream is my favourite condiments to go with this nachos. The nachos are thin & crisp & the chilli is spicy & crunchy. *Drools*

A must try :D
2. Soup of the day $8 : "Mexico is justly famous for its soup. Mexican soups run the gamut from clear broth to rib-sticking concoctions of several meats and vegetables to which fresh vegetables relishes may be added at serving time. At margarita's we make our soup fresh everyday. Our server will gladly explain our chef's special for today." -says the menu

Apparently, the soup of the day changes everyday, like what it's name suggests. (OBVIOUSLY RIGHT)
3. Kitchen Sink Burrito $20: When chicken, beef, refried beans, rice and a dozen of other ingredients are put together, in a large flour tortilla, topped with our very own salsa, cheese, guacamole& sour cream, it's got everything but kitchen sink!

This is what i ordered, but i totally wouldn't recommend this. this is a mess of a load of meat which is not very appropriately combined with bits of rice & salsa sauces. The ingredients just don't blend well in the mouth. After like 5 mouthful of this (barely a quarter), i started to feel sick of it. by the time i'm done with my quarter, i felt nauseated. It was a food disaster.

I rather eat lasagne. I swear it's way better.

You could try though. at your risk. :) maybe this dish may appeal to you.
4. Beef Enchiladas. If i'm not wrong. LOL. I'm not sure what this was... But i'm quite sure it's gonna taste about the same as #3

Pat's order. Call & ask him! HAHAS!
5. This should be Chicken enchiladas. Not sure which this is as well. HAHAS.

Next!
6. Red Chiles & Vegetable Braised Lamb Shank $36 : "Lamb fore shank braised with tequilla, red wine, fresh herbs & vegetables." - says the menu

This was Han Inn's order. I tried it, & as what she said, it reeked of the lamb's odour. It was pretty unbearable even for usual lamb consumers. The spices although were generously delivered, it didn't seep into the meat to cover up the smell. The end result was a seperate taste of heavy use of spices & a strong 'fishy' lamb aftertaste.

Not recommended.
7. Wild Barramundi Filet with lemon and capers in sweet tomato marmalade $32: "The crisp skin & the soft flesh of the fish contrasts beautifully with the sauce & its sharp bite of capers and lemon. The big surprise here is the sweet tomato marmalade. " - says the menu. "

Recommended! The fish is tender & really soft. However, if you do not appreciate fish, i would advise you to go Astons' instead or any other restaurants serving cheap dory fish you may get in supermarkets for several large pieces for only $10 a pack.
8. Pork carnitas $32 : "slow oven roasted pork, done the traditional way. served with warm corn tortillas, salsa rojas, salsa verde, & guacamole. Be creative!

The pork is not bad, & it comes with tortillas (some wrap you get to wrap the food as shown in #10). However, this is corn tortilla & we tasted that it's texture & taste didn't come up quite well. It's rough & not very tasty. If you prefer to just eat the meat, it's pretty alright. Nothing very very special though. Edible.

If you're thinking of ordering rice to go with this, please abandon the idea, because i don't think their rice is very nice. THAT'S WHAT I THINK, I'm not asking you not to try. I'm just saying if you ever try, don't say that i didn't warn you about it & don't regret! LOL.
9. Fajitas ( pronounced as Fa-hee-tas) $32 : "Margarita's prepares our fajitas from specially selected airflown striploins or free-range chicken, hand-pounded, aged & marinated, then grilled to perfection. The fajitas are served with sauteed onions, accented with a squeeze of lemon, five pieces of tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced jalapeno, pico de gallo & red salsa. " What the menu says.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The chicken is GOD-DAMNED nice! You really got to try this man! :D If i ever go there i would order this & the nachos again! :D
10: the tortilla wrap inside the blue cloth to keep it warm. & there is their sauces to go with the meat(sssssss).
There was a total of 8 of us. The price isnt that steep for this fare i thought. :) Considering the ambience & service.
& lastly, Kaiwei & carmen who insisted on their Ben & Jerry's! I'd rather buy a pint because the boys were rushing home :/

See their happy faces!

I'm sure all of us had a great day :))

win a mahjong game: Superstitions

Of course, superstitions are highly debatable. But in my point of view, Superstition becomes a belief only when enough people have similar coincidences, but that doesn't prove that it really work. i'm a person of science. Unless anything is proven, i wouldn't believe.

But i am, afraid of the dark though. HAHA.

You may believe in whatever you want, being superstitious may work for you, but these certainly does not work for me. You may try them though.

List of things to do:

Superstition #1 : Do not withdraw money before you start a game otherwise you will end up giving them as your friend's winnings/ lose it (bullshit, LOL. I lost more than what i withdraw before & i've won a few times!)

Superstition #2 : Wear Red undergarments, it's a sign of prosperity. (my dad's favourite move, he just got a pack of red briefs because he believes it'll allow him to strike lottery. I beg to differ)

Superstition #3 : Wear red clothings. (Boyfriend & i tried, we end up thinking we're 财神爷 in disguise because we lost so much, u wouldnt imagine. HAHA)

Superstition #4 : Do not allow your shoulders to be touched, because it'll pull down your luck even further. (Whatever...)

Superstition #5 : If you win a 十三么 suit, you'll be damn down on your luck for the following days. (My sister-in-law got it before, nothing bad happened. So if u happen to have this kind of tile, just go for it!)

I'm not an extremist, therefore there are some, i probably wouldn't mind believing in the following:

Superstition #6 : Do not count how much you have, because being cautious of how much you have equates to being aware of how much you have to lose, & vice versa -- how much others can win from you. (probably half can be believed. I do not count it anyway.)

Superstition #7 : Taking a leak (in the middle of the game) may wash away all bad luck/good luck you previously had. (Well, there was once, i took a leak & i won lesser thereafter, but there were also times when i went to pee it away, the bad luck still remained, probably i didn't pee enough? HAHA!)

Superstition #8 : try to play it during your period (for girls) because it's a sign that good things are rolling in. (来'ang' (红)). [If i was having period, I wouldn't even feel like going out. & definitely not deliberately. So far i haven't tested this yet. HAHA.]

that's all i know. you may add on to the list if you feel like. But i shall stop at 8. It's a LUCKY number. :D

m.i.s.s.i.n.g.y.o.u

I'd turn to the bolster, infused with the lavender scent from the body wash you use every night, & inhale in the smell so familiar, to derive a sense of comfort whenever you're not around.

& i wished you were here right now.

But i guess the lavender particles have diffused somewhere else, or have been depleted. So i will need you to come back to permeate the pockets of air in the oblong ball of cotton with your fragrance again.

Come home soon boyfriend.

Ming Jun's 21st!

Mabel's impromptu request for a mahjong game was so sudden! HAHAS! but of course, how do i ever reject a mahjong session? So sorry darling, i know you wanna watch your Barcelona vs Real Madrid game at 4am, but I WANNA PLAY MAHJONG! lol.

你最疼我了!muack muack!

& I remembered Mabel telling me that Ming Jun's birthday was tomorrow, so i quickly went to get him a gift. It was just a simple gift so i hope he likes it! It's something practical la. HAHA!

& UNFORTUNATELY, birthday boy was not in luck, given that it's not officially his birthday yet. He lost $18 to me & Mabel lost $4 to me, & darling lost $9 to me. I'm the biggest winner of the night & i really have to brag about this. WAHAHAA!

I think it's not so safe for all of you to play mahjong with me these days, & i strongly advise against it hahaha! U'll lose terribly.

& MingJun invited us over to his place for his super low-profile celebration! & it feels special to be one of the few to get to celebrate his birthday! Apparently he have alot of wishes to be fulfilled because he wished for a good 1-2 mins. HAHAS!
Dont be fooled by that shirt. HAHAS!
These pretty cupcakes are very delightful! :D
Looks very happy yeah!
Don't ask me what happened to hk's eye

HOPE MINGJUN & MABEL ENJOY THEIR DAY AT EQUINOX TOMORROW! bless the good people!
